It’s the first question almost every brand founder asks us — and it’s a good one. But the honest answer is: it depends on choices you probably haven’t made yet. Rather than quoting a number that would mean nothing, here are the factors that actually determine the cost of your project.
The juice: concentration and raw materials
The heart of the product is the fragrance. Two parameters weigh directly on its cost: concentration (eau de toilette, eau de parfum, extrait — the higher it is, the larger the share of concentrate) and the richness of the formula (some natural raw materials cost far more than their more common equivalents). A generously dosed extrait rich in noble materials and a classic eau de toilette are simply not in the same category — and that’s normal.
One important point: at Parcolux, the formula developed for your brand is contractually exclusive to you. You are not paying for a catalogue juice that other brands could use.
The bottle: stock or custom
This is often the most decisive factor. Two routes are possible:
- A bottle from our stock, personalised with lacquering in your colours, with your cap, pump and collar: the fast, accessible route, ideal for a launch.
- A fully custom bottle, with a design exclusive to your brand: the most distinctive option, but it requires specific development and makes sense for larger volumes.
Many brands start with a personalised stock bottle, validate their market, then invest in an exclusive bottle later. It’s a strategy we often recommend.
Secondary packaging
Carton, rigid gift box, finishes (hot foil, embossing, spot varnish...): secondary packaging dresses your product and shapes how your brand is perceived. At Parcolux, gift boxes are part of our support, including for small runs — but how sophisticated they are remains a choice that affects the overall budget.
Quantities
Mechanically, the larger the run, the lower the unit cost: fixed costs (development, production set-up) are spread over more pieces. But there is no minimum quantity with us for private label: it’s better to launch a small run that matches your distribution capacity than to aim too big from the start.
EU regulatory compliance
To sell in Europe, your perfume must comply with the cosmetics regulation: testing, product information file, CPNP notification. It’s a mandatory step that we handle entirely, and it should be part of your budget from day one — not at the end of the project.
How to get a reliable quote
Be wary of “per-component” price lists: a serious quote can only be drawn up once your full configuration is defined — concentration, bottle, packaging, quantities, target markets. That’s when we give you an all-inclusive unit price, firm and with no surprises.
